Town Seeks Community Feedback on Important Planning Processes
Comprehensive Plan and Climate Action Plan Events Scheduled this Fall

This fall, the Town of Yarmouth will host a number of engagement events seeking community feedback on an updated Comprehensive Plan and Yarmouth’s first Climate Action Plan. These distinct yet interrelated planning processes will set policy for at least the next decade on land use, municipal operations, and investments.

The Comprehensive Plan update, known as Plan Yarmouth, will guide municipal policy, growth, and investment by identifying a shared vision of the community’s future that reflects and responds to the community's values and priorities. The last Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2010, the majority of which has been implemented through the work of many Town departments, boards and commissions, and other partners.

In 2022, the Town adopted a Climate Declaration that set bold targets to address climate change. Building on those goals, the Climate Action Plan will set an actionable roadmap to achieve the net zero emissions targets and enhance Yarmouth’s resilience to the impacts of a changing climate.

The upcoming events on these two important planning processes include:
October 2: Plan Yarmouth’s Environment and Natural Resources Community Conversation
October 10: Yarmouth Climate Action Plan Community Action Workshop
November 13: Plan Yarmouth’s Future Land Use Workshop

Each of these family-friendly events are scheduled for 6-8 PM at the Patriot Insurance Multipurpose Event Room located at 701 Route 1. The events are scheduled to be in-person.

If you missed the Plan Yarmouth Housing Community Conversation held on September 11 or the Economy Community Conversation held on September 18, you can watch the recordings and join the disucssion online.
