Exit 17 Overpass Night Work Notice, April 23, 2024: CPM Constructors, the contractors in charge of the Exit 17 overpass improvements, have notified the Town that night work is expected during the week of April 28th through May 5th. Work will occur between the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00am with limited traffic interruptions during that time. Traffic along Interstate 295 will not be impacted. For more information, click here.

Beth Condon Pathway Extension, February 20, 2024: The Maine Department of Transportation invites members of the public to provide input on the upcoming extension of the Beth Condon Pathway from Exit 17 to the Cousins River Bridge. Information related to the public process can be found here.

Bridge Street Bridge Painting. January 29, 2024: The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently shared preliminary dates for the repainting of the Bridge Street Bridge over the Royal River. Advertisement for the project is projected to occur in March 2024, with work scheduled to start as soon as April 2024. For more information, check out more information on the project here.

East Main Street Bridge Improvements, January 23, 2024: The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites members of the public to attend a meeting focused on proposed improvements to the East Main Street bridge that spans over Route 1 in Yarmouth. Meeting material can be reviewed here.

Cousins River Bridge Replacement, December 15, 2023: The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently released a public notice regarding the replacement of the I-295 northbound bridge that spans the Cousins River.

Beth Condon Pathway: Delorme Drive to the Cousin's River Bridge, November 1, 2023: The Maine Department of Transportation (MODT) and the Town of Yarmouth recently held a stakeholder meeting to update the public on the scope of work. This project will complete the final northerly segment of the Beth Condon Path from Delorme Drive to the Cousin’s River Bridge at the Town Line.  Once complete, likely around 2027 the Beth Condon Path will be continuous from Portland Street to Freeport. MDOT Exit 15 Overpass Replacement, October 25, 2023: The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) is in the process of replacing the bridge that carries US Route 1 over I-295 at Exit 15 near Tyler Drive.  This work will include a full replacement of the existing bridge with a new structure as well as bicycle and pedestrian accommodations for connection between the MDOT park and Ride lot and Tyler Drive.  It is anticipated that the project will be advertised for bid in the fall of 2024 with a 2025-2026 construction period.  This project will be fully managed by MDOT.
