Recycling Committee

The Recycling Committee is an advisory group made up of citizens who review and recommend policies and procedures. The Committee promotes public awareness, as well as cost effective, environmentally sound and sustainable solid waste and recycling management practices.

Yarmouth contracts with EcoMaine for its solid waste removal. Learn all about how EcoMaine provides sustainable waste management strategies for Yarmouth and communities around Maine in this video.

To help reduce waste, we encourage you to check out the following links:

1. If you're interested in opting out of unwanted catalogs and other pieces of junk mail, sign up for Catalog Choice.
2. Furniture Friends is an easy way to donate used furniture.
3. If you're looking for public shredding events, check out Without a Trace.

The Recycling Committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month by teleconference. The committee has been mapping out strategies to increase recycling rates, and provide the best, cost-effective waste & recycling services to Yarmouth residents now and in the future.
