Yarmouth Town Council

The Town Council is the legislative and policy making body for the Town of Yarmouth. Together they adopt and amend ordinances, approve contracts, appropriate funds from Capital Reserves, appoint citizens for Boards and Committees, hire and supervise the Town Manager and prepares the annual budget for consideration by the Annual Town Meeting. The Council operates by Town Council Rules. Town Meeting action is required to adopt the Town and School budgets, authorize debt and to amend the Town Charter. The Council consists of seven members each elected at-large to staggered three-year terms.

The Town Council meets on the first Thursday of each month for a workshop and on the third Thursday of each month for the formal voting meeting. Council also typically meets for Operations Committee meetings on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

All meetings start at 7:00 PM and are televised on Yarmouth Community Access Channel 3 on Spectrum Cable and streamed here. Meetings are recorded and can be viewed later via Meetings on Demand. All meetings include a remote participation option.
