Committee Vision:
A vibrant community where people of all ages and abilities can safely walk, bike, or roll.
Committee Mission:
To create safe, connected active mobility networks throughout Yarmouth that support a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle.
Guiding Principles:
- Safety: We prioritize safety of all users by advocating for street designs and traffic-calming measures that reduce speeding, curb dangerous driving, and separate vulnerable users when possible.
- Climate: We champion non-polluting transportation options by promoting walking and biking as environmentally responsible modes of travel.
- Health: We promote physical well-being and a sense of community by creating opportunities for exercise, recreation, social interaction, and access to natural spaces.
- Accessibility: We work diligently to make Yarmouth’s streets and paths accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability.
The Committee welcomes feedback from residents on safety concerns or opportunities for enhancing biking and walking conditions around town. Contact the staff liaison to send a message to the Committee members.
The committee typically meets virtually on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm.
