In 2021, Town Council adopted the Historic Preservation Advisory Ordinance, to identify and preserve sites with historic, cultural, architectural, and archeological significance and to preserve the historic character of the Town. The ordinance establishes the Historic Preservation Committee and outlines its responsibilities, an advisory review process, and designates local historic landmarks, districts, and objects. The ordinance also describes the criteria and process for future designations.Learn more about the Historic Preservation Advisory Ordinance.
The Historic Preservation Committee is tasked with advisory review, as well as assisting, advising, and educating residents, property owners, and Town officials on preservation, renovation, rehabilitation, and reuse of historic, cultural, architectural and archeological sites. Review this brochure for more information on types of projects that require review by the Committee.
The Historic Preservation Committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Town Hall Community Room with a remote participation option.
